How 3D Graphene Ceramic Coating Works
3D infused this coating with graphene. 3D says the graphene helps form a barrier against UV rays, rain and dirt, and helps the coating last longer. The result is a slick, glossy finish that brings out the depth and vibrancy of the paint color.
The coating is both oleophobic and hydrophobic, which means it repels oil and water. Water-based and oil-based stains are less likely to stick, and water beads up and rolls off the surface. 3D also made it an easy wipe-off coating that goes on in a smooth, even layer.

How to Apply 3D Graphene Ceramic Coating
3D Graphene Ceramic Coating needs paint in perfect condition for the best results, so prep comes first.
- Wash: Wash and dry the car with a good car wash soap.
- Clay: Remove any bonded contaminants with a clay bar such as the Source Chemical Gray clay bar.
- Polish the paint (paint correction): Always do at least a clay followed by a polish. Paint correction is needed if the car has swirls. Choose the method: a one-step or a two-step. Use 3D ONE for a polish or a one-step paint correction. For a two-step paint correction, use 3D ACA 500, 3D ACA 510 or 3D AAT 501, followed by 3D AAT 502 or 3D ACA 520.
- Wipe down: Wipe the paint with denatured or isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber towel, then dry it with a second clean towel.
- Load the applicator: Wrap a suede cloth around the foam block and put on enough 3D Graphene Ceramic Coating to cover the flat face of the cloth.
- Apply: Start at the highest point, usually the roof, and work your way down and around the car. Work in 2 ft x 2 ft sections, spreading the coating evenly side to side and then up and down (a cross-hatch pattern).
- Wait: Let each section sit for 30 seconds to a minute. Removal time depends on the temperature: the warmer it is, the sooner it should come off.
- Buff off: Buff the coating off with a clean microfiber towel. If the surface still feels oily, wait a few more seconds and buff again.
- Repeat: Put more coating on the suede cloth and repeat around the whole car.
- Optional second layer: For added protection, wait 30 to 45 minutes after the first layer, then apply a second layer the same way. On the second layer, wait 30 seconds and remove it with a new, clean microfiber towel.

To keep the coating working between washes, wash with 3D Pink Car Wash Soap or 3D SiO2 Ceramic Wash Soap (the ceramic wash is highly recommended).
