3D AAT 502 Body Shop Safe Finishing Polish
3D AAT 502 is step 2 of 3D’s two-step AAT paint correction system. Step 1 is 3D AAT 501 Cutting Compound. Once 501 takes out the sanding marks and heavier defects, 502 cleans up the holograms, light swirls, and DA haze left behind, so the paint finishes with deep, clear gloss. It comes in 8 oz, 32 oz, and 1-gallon sizes.
502 is made with 3D’s Adaptive Abrasive Technology (AAT), a fine abrasive that works on both hard and soft paints. It works on high-end ceramic coatings as well as traditional clear coats. There are no fillers in it, so it won’t hide swirls that show up again after the next wash, and dark colors won’t show dye-back later (dye-back is when swirls hidden by fillers show up again after a few washes or in the sun). It’s body shop safe, eco-friendly, low-dust, and wipes off clean.
How 3D AAT 502 Fits the Two-Step AAT System
Most paint correction comes down to two jobs: cutting out the defects, then refining the finish. In the 3D AAT system, 3D AAT 501 Cutting Compound does the cutting and takes out the sanding marks and heavier defects. 3D AAT 502 does the refining. It clears the holograms, light swirls and DA haze that the cutting step leaves behind, so the paint is ready for wax, sealant or a ceramic coating.
On heavier 1200 to 1500-grit sanding marks, that two-step pairing is the way to go: 3D AAT 501 removes the marks, and 3D AAT 502 brings the gloss back.
Because 3D AAT 502 has no fillers, what you see after polishing is the real finish. Dark colors are where that matters most. A filler polish can look perfect in the shop, then show dye-back later (dye-back is when swirls hidden by fillers show up again after a few washes or in the sun). With 502, the gloss stays because the defects are actually gone.
