Description
3D BDX Iron Remover and Brake Dust Remover

3D BDX Iron Remover and Brake Dust Remover pulls baked-on brake dust off wheels and iron fallout out of paint, the gritty specks a wash mitt leaves behind. Spray it on, and it turns purple as it reacts with the iron, so you can see it working. Use it on wheels after every few washes, or on paint before claying and polishing. Available in 16 oz and 1-gallon sizes.
3D BDX Iron Remover is an acid-free formula, so it’s safe on clear coat and on painted or clear-coated wheels. It dissolves the iron particles instead of scrubbing them off, which means less brushing and less chance of scratching. Iron decontamination before a clay bar means the clay picks up fewer particles and lasts longer.
What makes this one worth keeping in the garage:
- Removes brake dust from wheels and iron fallout from paint
- Turns purple as it works, so you can see where the iron was
- Acid-free formula that’s safe on paint and wheels
- Fast-acting: spray, wait a few minutes, and rinse
- Cuts down on clay bar work before polishing
- Ready to use straight from the bottle
- Made in the USA
Tip: Work on cool wheels and paint in the shade, and rinse BDX off before it dries.
Do not use BDX in direct sun, on trim and bright work, or on bare aluminum wheels without a clear coat.
How to Tell if Your Car Has Iron Fallout
Brake pads throw off hot iron particles that stick to wheels and paint, mostly on the lower panels and the back of the car. Rail dust near train tracks does the same thing. On white and silver cars, it shows up as tiny orange rust specks. On any color, wash the car, then slide your hand inside a plastic sandwich bag across the paint. If it feels gritty, it’s time for 3D BDX Iron Remover.
How to Remove Brake Dust and Iron Fallout With 3D BDX
On wheels: Rinse the wheel first. Spray 3D BDX Iron Remover over the whole face and inside the barrel, then wait 2 to 3 minutes while it turns purple. On heavy brake dust, agitate with a 17″ Tampico wheel cleaning brush, then rinse well. For grease and road grime, follow up with 3D Wheel Brite Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner.
On paint: Wash and rinse the car, then spray BDX on one panel at a time, keeping it off the trim and bright work. Let it sit 2 to 3 minutes, watch for the purple bleeding, and rinse it off completely. Then clay the paint with a Source Chemical Gray Medium 200g Clay Bar to pull out what’s left.
Using the gallon: Refill your 16 oz bottle of 3D BDX Iron Remover, or fill 32 oz spray bottles with TOLCO 320ARS triggers. If you already have bottles, the TOLCO 320ARS trigger sprayer fits any 28/400 neck. A heavy-duty trigger holds up to strong chemicals much longer than the cheap ones.
