Description
3D Metal Polish for Aluminum Wheels, Trailers, Boats, and Classic Cars

3D Metal Polish brings dull aluminum wheels, faded diamond plate, and tarnished brass back to life. It’s made for classic car restorers, vintage and billet aluminum wheels, Airstream and travel trailers, boats, and vintage aircraft, anywhere bare metal has lost its shine. This liquid metal polish removes oxidation, staining, and tarnish, then leaves a bright mirror shine without dulling or scratching the surface. Available in a 16 oz ready-to-use bottle.
Instead of the ammonia and harsh solvents many metal polishes rely on, 3D Metal Polish uses a blend of chemical cleaners and fine abrasives that cut through years of oxidation without leaving scratches behind. The hybrid formula lets you control how much it cuts and how much it polishes. It’s fine enough for delicate pieces like jewelry and works by hand or with an orbital or rotary polisher.
What makes this one worth keeping in the garage:
- Removes oxidation, tarnish, staining, and surface contamination
- Leaves a bright mirror shine without dulling or scratching
- Works on aluminum, brass, copper, silver, gold, magnesium, and diamond plate
- Brings back vintage wheels, billet aluminum wheels, and uncoated metal trim
- Great for Airstream and travel trailers, boats, and vintage aircraft
- Hybrid formula lets you control cut and polish
- Apply by hand or with an orbital or rotary polisher
- No ammonia, harsh chemicals, or solvents
- VOC-compliant, earth-friendly formula
Tip: Use it only on bare, uncoated metal. Painted or clear-coated wheels need a paint polish instead.
Best Results With 3D Metal Polish
For heavily oxidized metal, start with a 100% cotton terry cloth. For metal that’s already in good shape, use a soft cotton cloth, a Hi-Tech M35 microfiber applicator, or a small microfiber towel. Spread 3D Metal Polish in overlapping circles, then work it in with firm pressure.
If the metal has a brushed grain, polish back and forth with the grain instead of in circles. Wipe off the residue with a clean microfiber towel. For machine polishing small areas, try our 3D 3″ Wool Pads. 3D Metal Polish removes oxidation and light blemishes, but deep pitting or gouges will need sanding first.
How to Polish Aluminum Wheels With 3D Metal Polish
Wash and dry the wheel first so loose grit doesn’t get dragged across the metal. Work one small section at a time.
Put a little 3D Metal Polish on your cloth and work it in small, overlapping circles, or use overlapping back-and-forth strokes in smaller or tight spots. When the cloth starts turning black, that’s the oxidation coming off, so keep working until the black thins out.
Wipe the section clean with a fresh microfiber towel, then flip to a dry side and buff to a shine. On heavier oxidation, repeat the process until you get the bright finish you want. Once the metal is bright, a quick wipe after each wash keeps it that way, so upkeep takes minutes instead of an afternoon.
